About Braxton Patton

Braxton W. Patton is a writer, healthcare worker, speaker-in-progress, cartoonist, husband, father, grandfather, and lifelong student of what it means to keep going.

He has spent more than four decades in healthcare, including invasive cardiology, sleep medicine, neurology, and his lived experience with oncology. Along the way, he has seen the human body at its strongest, weakest, strangest, and most stubborn. He has also lived through his own medical storms: cardiac arrest, heart surgery, cancer, lung removal, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and the long work of rebuilding health one choice at a time.

Braxton’s Workbench grew out of that life.

This is not a place for perfect answers, polished influencer certainty, or ring-light wisdom. It is a place for honest stories, practical health lessons, old-fashioned food sense, faith, humor, and the kind of humanity that gets lost when everything becomes a performance.

Braxton writes from the perspective of a man who has made mistakes, asked questions, read the journals, changed the food, moved the body, prayed hard, laughed at the ridiculous, and kept showing up. His motto is simple:

Pick up the fork.
Take the step.
Do the part that is mine.

His writing often circles around health, family, faith, survival, practical living, and the difference between rebuilding what was damaged and building forward into what is still possible.

He is not here to sell a lifestyle brand.

He is here to tell the truth from the workbench, offer what has helped, admit what has not, and maybe bring a little humanity back into the room.

Braxton has been married to Christina since 1982. Together they have raised a family, faced health scares, learned the cost of endurance, and discovered that some chains do not trap you. Some chains hold.

His final message is also his daily invitation:

Choose Life.

Now go live it.
